Over the last few years, CBD has gone from being virtually unknown to the next big thing in holistic healthcare. It’s no wonder why Harvard Medical School published an article touting CBD for its role in helping treat some of the cruelest childhood epilepsy syndromes, arthritis, insomnia, and the list goes on.
So – after hearing and reading about CBD literally everywhere, you finally decide to try it. But it’s not that easy, is it? Now you are faced with dozens, if not hundreds of CBD options – vape pens, capsules, tinctures, lotions, bath bombs, pillows, yoga pants (seriously??), coffee and almost everything else imaginable. So finally, after even more research you decide to go the OG route and buy a tincture. Again, you are faced with several options, with the main choice being traditional CBD oil versus water-soluble CBD.
At first glance, it could sound like water-soluble is the better solution because, well, the human body is 60% water. But there’s more to think about – mainly the fact that CBD oil is just that – oil.
What you may not know is that in order to get CBD out of its natural oily state to become “water-soluble”, additional ingredients and processing are necessary to break the CBD molecules into “nanoparticles” – or a very tiny size – so that they become easier for your body to absorb.
In reality, both types of CBD are effective, depending on what you are using them for. Look for water-soluble CBD tinctures if you want something very fast-acting, as it is up to 10x more bioavailable (meaning, it absorbs into your body much faster) than traditional CBD tinctures. However, it also means that it leaves your body much faster than traditional fat-soluble CBD. So, if you take CBD here and there depending on how you’re feeling that day, maybe water-soluble is the way to go for you. But if you have incorporated CBD into your daily routine, along with other daily vitamins, then the less processed, traditional CBD products are probably a better choice and over time will produce longer-lasting results.
Since we did mention oil-based tinctures, use something that is well saturated with CBD like organic MCT and not other carrier oil that sounds cool but as less effective as hemp seed oil.
Either way, you can find high quality options in both organic MCT carrier oil https://gleecbd.com/product-category/cbd-oil/ or water soluble https://gleecbd.com/product-category/water-soluble/.
